With the rapid technological advancement around the globe, it is imperative for the engineers and scientists to learn and upgrade their knowledge, much after completing formal education in the college. Therefore, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering with its consistent group of faculty members, offers a sound program at PG level. The purpose is to provide scientific and engineering man power of the highest quality, to cater to the needs of industry, R&D organizations and educational institutions. It also offers a deep understanding of the area of specialization, an innovative ability to resolve new problems, and a capacity to learn constantly and relate with multidisciplinary groups.

Necessity to pursue post-graduate studies

In a tough world for the IT-enabled industries in India, the onus on the computer engineers will be to not only develop cost effective solutions to the impending problems but also provide quality services through core technology development. A post-graduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering is invariably essential if one aspires to set himself aside in a honeycomb mass of "computer professionals" and to play a stellar role in transforming the industry, be it through research, advanced development, teaching, or entrepreneurship.

Graduates of M. E. Computer Science and Engineering will be able to

2.Develop innovative and advanced software systems by exploring multiple solutions to computational problems with efficient algorithms giving due consideration to the human context in which the systems would work.

1.Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2.Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering Problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4.Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5.Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6.The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the Professional engineering practice.
7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development
8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Environment Established in 2016, it supports autonomous and sustainable learning to establish a learning community and to strengthen the research skills of the students. This lab is well equipped with Intel E3-1225 V3 Quad Core Processors and Lenovo Think Server with Windows 2008 and Linux. Internet access is provided on all days for the benefit of the students with Wi-Fi Connectivity. There are 40 systems to enable the student to carry out the project works without any interruption. The lab is well-equipped with the all the necessary software. Operating systems like Windows 7 with VMware Workstation 9.0.2. Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 Antivirus, Database Tools like Microsoft SQL server 2008 and Oracle 10g, Programming languages like Turbo C++, JAVA 8 and NetBeans 8.0.2. Application packages like Microsoft Office 2007, Matlab 7.0, Cisco packet Tracer 6.0.1 and Multimedia tools Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Flash MX, Corel Draw are used by the students and faculty for development, design and research.
